Anais Ouedraogo is an undergraduate student entering her third year at the University of Toronto, studying a double major in Cognitive Science and Global Health. She has had several experiences working within the university community and the local community, and as a research assistant. For a year, as a program coordinator for Black students at the Academic Advising and Career Center, Anais gained experience in equity research through running focus groups, conducting literature reviews and coordinating various projects to support the Black community at the university. She is currently working as a lead interviewer with the Canadian Black Scientist Network, on a project analyzing the participation of Black students and scientists in STEM in Canada. In this role, she has handled and transcribed sensitive information from qualitative data. Anais is also a research assistant with the University of Toronto’s faculty of medicine, working on changing the landscape of global health education through extensive scoping reviews of worldwide global health education to inform policy changes. Outside of academic work, Anais is also the vice president of the UTSC Debate Club, and the director of academic events for the African Students Association. She enjoys reading, swimming, cooking, and biking in her free time.
