Beth is a MSc student in Health Promotion in the department of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences at Western University. She is also a 2021 graduate from McMaster University, holding a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology. Her research interests include global health, infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), epidemiology and implementation science. She also graduated from the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) in 2019, with a major in Population Health and a double minor in Psychology and Anthropology. Beth also holds a certificate in Medical Office Administration (MOA) from Evergreen College. As a Research Assistant in the Global Health and Innovations Lab (GHIL), she worked on a systematic review and a qualitative study on COVID-19, partnering with the Federation of Black Canadians. Beth recently successfully published both studies in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) and the Canadian Journal of Public Health (CJPH) respectively. Aside from her academic interests in research, Beth enjoys reading and listening to audiobooks on finance and self-development. As an advocate for financial freedom, she currently runs a small side business in women’s self-care, which she started in summer of 2020. Beth also started a commercial/residential moving company with two partners, that currently operates successfully in Scarborough, and was part owner until summer 2021. Aside from her academic interests and business endeavors, she enjoys staying physically active, watching comedy, painting, and having a lived experience in cultures outside of her own.
