Omer Jamal is a recent undergraduate from the University of Toronto Scarborough, who completed a double major in Human Biology and Health Studies. He is currently a MSc student in Public Health at Dalla Lana School of Public Health. In the racial equity project, he researched the importance of collecting race-based COVID-19 data to provide an equitable response to the current pandemic. In the health equity project, he developed insights on how high-level decision-makers can implement more accessible, equitable, and anti-oppressive pop- up COVID-19 vaccine clinics, specifically for racialized postsecondary students residing in Canadian COVID-19 hotspots. Omer hopes to continue his undergrad research work on important topics revolving around health equity. In addition, Omer's research interests include Global Health Equity, Disease Prevention and Treatment, and Epidemiology. In his free time, Omer enjoys playing and watching sports such as cricket, basketball, and soccer.
