Tolulola Taiwo-Hanna is a doctoral candidate, research coordinator, and course instructor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Tolu’s research interests include social work practice with diverse populations, racism and racial microaggressions in human service organizations, trauma and mental health, racial trauma, organizational development, and social work leadership. Her dissertation specifically examines how racial microaggressions are enacted and mitigated in human service organizations toward organizational personnel.
Tolu holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from the University of Toronto with a concentration in Human Service Management and Leadership. She also attended the University of Windsor where she completed an Honours Bachelor of Social Work and a minor in Psychology. In addition to her academic pursuits, Tolu is currently a social worker/psychotherapist with Hope Leads Mental Health Care where the team strives to center the experiences of diverse communities from across the gender spectrum, while applying anti-racist, intersectional, sex positive, and anti-oppressive approaches to caring for mental health.
