Cameron is studying Population Health and Immunology at the University of Toronto Scarborough, and has built a commitment to uplifting, strengthening, and representing the Black community through research and advocacy. As a Co-op student, her time working at the Canadian Institute for Health Information and the Hospital for Sick Children has developed an aptitude for projects involving data governance and creating better health outcomes for youth and marginalized individuals. Her profound interest in women’s health has led to research in breast pathology, and now, maternal healthcare.
Cameron has served on her campus community as the Co-President of Future Black Physicians UTSC and as the Student Representative on UTSC’s Anti-Black Racism and Black Inclusion Advisory Committee. In the Black Health Equity Lab, she hopes to finally bridge her love for public and community health research with Black advocacy, in hopes to make a positive impact on the healthcare experiences of Black women and children in Scarborough and beyond.
Outside of her work, you can find Cameron somewhere along her hunt to find the best tiramisu in Toronto.
