Ranie completed a Master of Health Science at Western University and an Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where he double majored in Human Biology and Health Studies. His experience spans community-based research, mentorship, and advocacy, with a strong commitment to dismantling the health inequities experienced by marginalized communities in Canada.
His current research focuses on examining the relationship between the social determinants of health and the physical and mental health outcomes of African, Caribbean, and Black communities. He is also involved in a study exploring the facilitators and barriers to accessing mental health support among survivors of Black homicide victims in Canada.
Outside of academia, Ranie enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, and exploring new food spots across the city.
